3D Animation - Modeling

Introduction to Creating Models within the 3D Pipeline

What is Modeling?

Modeling or Mesh Modeling is one of the most fundamental aspects of any work within 3D Animation.

It's the creation of the physical characters, objects, and buildings that make up a digital space.
In other words, it's the manipulation of digital points and surfaces, to make a three-dimensional representation of objects in digital space.

Not every job position needs to know how to make models, but almost all of them need to be familiar with using and manipulating models.

Alternatively, some workflows might create models using Sculpting.

Modeling Topics

The following pages discuss the practice of creating and editing models, using the direct manipulation of faces, edges, and vertices.

Really good tutorials and demos, with a focus on creating content for video game development. Tends to focus on modeling and animation. Even if you don't want to do games, content is informative enough and easy enough to follow that it's still good.
