3D Animation - Sculpting
Introduction to Sculpting with "Digital Clay" within the 3D Pipeline
What is Sculpting?
Digital Sculpting is effectively the use of "digital clay" to create characters, objects, or environments within 3D space.
Just like with real clay, you build it up or wear it down, creating various parts, combining and refining until you get the desired result.
It's a very different workflow from Mesh Modeling to create a model. But it's not necessarily a "better" workflow.
Some people prefer sculpting over mesh modeling, and some don't. Both are valid, and each has separate pros and cons. To some extent, each has different use cases are different too.
